ABBYY Announces New Branch in Taiwan

Moscow, Russia (August 18, 2008) – ABBYY, a leading provider of document recognition, data capture and linguistic software, today announced the opening of its new office, ABBYY USA Software House, Inc. Taiwan Branch, which officially began operation on Friday, August 8, 2008. Taiwan is now one of the largest computer related manufacturers in the world, and the goal of the ABBYY Taiwan branch will be to reach out and support both local and global business in Taiwan with its software.

“We could not be more thrilled to open this new branch in Taiwan’s flourishing technology market,” said Dean Tang, CEO of ABBYY USA. “With our new business development manager, Donald Yang, we plan to enhance our opportunities in this region and provide technology that will help many of the local industries prosper. This new branch provides us with a major stepping stone for moving forward in the global market within ABBYY USA’s territory, which consists of North America, Central America, Japan and Taiwan.”

A wide variety of computer equipment and devices are manufactured in and shipped out of Taiwan on a daily basis, including notebooks, smart phones, cameras and scanners. “I am honored to be appointed to work for the ABBYY Taiwan branch,” said Donald Yang, business development manager of ABBYY USA Software House, Inc. Taiwan Branch. “I look forward to collaborating with senior management and assisting with negotiations to drive new business in this promising local market.”
